Zoe Kravitz in "Mad Max: Fury Road"

Zoe Kravitz has signed up to co-star in Divergent, Summit/Lionsgate’s adaptation of Veronica Roth’s YA novel of the same name.

Kravitz joins Maggie Q, Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley in a project that’s set in a future dystopia divided into different groups based on human traits. Woodley stars as Tris, a teenager who wants to break free from her homogeneous society, leaves her faction and joins a rival group, where she falls for a young man.

Neil Burger (Limitless) is directing.

Kravitz will play Christina, a member of the Dauntless faction, which embodies bravery, and who becomes friends with Tris.

Comparisons are being made to another Lionsgate property, The Hunger Games.

Douglas Wick, Lucy Fisher and Pouya Shahbazian are producing, with shooting set for Chicago this spring.

Up next for Ms Kravitz is After Earth – directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring Will and Jaden Smith.
