Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them just added Zoe Kravitz to the cast. The Harry Potter universe plus more black women can never be a bad thing. It literally is #BlackGirlMagic. Even if we aren’t on the best terms with J.K. right now, the Potterhead deep down is extremely hype.
What makes this film even more special is that it’s Rowling’s screenwriting debut. Kravitz was added after production began, which suggests that she plays a character that was added to the story after it was already done. There’s no info about who she is going to play, so the possibilities are endless. Cross your fingers that she’ll be a powerful witch casting spells. All of her previous film roles in movies like X-Men, Divergent and Mad Max showed us she’s best in the middle of the action.
Fantastic Beasts already had a star studded cast with actors like Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Ezra Miller. Adding Zoe Kravitz to the mix can only ramp up the movie even more. We’ll have to keep our ear to the streets to find out who Zoe will play. But I think we can expect her to be dope.
