Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson co-stars in Summit’s action-thriller Escape Plan, alongside Sylvester Stallone, Arnold SchwarzeneggerJim CaviezelVincent D’OnofrioVinnie Jones, and Amy Ryan.

The $70 million film, directed by Mikael Hafstrom (1408Derailed) centers on an expert on structural security (Stallone) “who is framed and put in a high-security prison of his own design, and must put his skills to the test to escape and find out who put him there.”

Fiddy is apparently playing some kind of tech genius named “Hush.” Hollywood’s way of “geeking up” an actor for a part usually starts with having them wear glasses, as you can see above. If it’s a woman, her hair will likely be pulled back, and she’ll be wearing glasses.

But, say what you want about his acting ability, Fiddy just continues to get hooked up (or hooks himself up) with projects, and each time, the caliber of stars he’s surrounded with increases – Robert De NiroNicolas CageBruce Willis, and now Stallone and Schwarzenegger.

And by the way, these are all Emmett/Furla projects, who Fiddy has a deal with via his Cheetah Vision production company.

Maybe this one will make some kind of commentary on the prison industrial complex that Angela Davis has spoken and written so much about.

Then again, maybe not…

Escape Plan (previously titled The Tomb, which I actually prefer) is out this weekend.
