Haven’t heard anything about this project since early announcements last summer/fall; I keep forgetting to periodically check up on it actually.

Thankfully, this piece of news turned up online recently. Nothing too exciting, like a trailer, or even still images however; unless you’re a fan of composer Aaron Zigman.

Zigman (a long time Tyler Perry collaborator) has signed on to score the upcoming comedy, written and directed by Tina Gordon Chism (her directorial debut), and produced by Tyler Perry. Craig Robinson, Kerry Washington, S. Epatha Merkerson, Melvin Van Peebles, Diahann Carroll and David Alan Grier star in the film that centers on a child psychologist’s (Robinson) hellish weekend, which begins when he surprises his girlfriend (Washington), by showing up to meet her political family parents, during their annual end of summer celebration in Sag Harbor, only to find that they are all in desperate need of therapy.

As already noted, Zigman is a frequent Tyler Perry collaborator, scoring seven (7) of Perry’s movies!

The film doesn’t have a release date yet, but I’m expecting a fall release courtesy of Lionsgate.

I expect we’ll soon see a trailer, poster, or something; anything! Been awhile… if anyone has media on this, share.
