Two legends are joining the cast of American Horror Story: Coven — Oscar nominee Angela Bassett and Tony winner Patti LuPone!

We can now officially add Angela Bassett to the cast, as well as veteran stage star Patti LuPone, per the above tweet from series creator Shawn Ryan.
The actresses join a cast that includes Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe.
Quite an impressive overall cast! Although I never quite got into the series; not because I didn’t like it. There’s just so much else competing for my attention. But with the addition of Sidibe and Bassett, I think I’ll catch up before the next season arrives.
No details yet on what each new cast addition will play in the horror TV series, however.
The last time Bassett appeared as a series regular on any TV show was during the final season (2008–2009) of the once hit medical drama ER on NBC.
