The Queen Beyoncé Knowles Carter is now the highest-earning woman in music for 2017, according to Forbes. The financial publication suggests Beyoncé's pre-tax income between June 2016 and June 2017 was $105 million, putting her ahead of fellow high earners Adele ($69 million) and 2016's richest woman in music, Taylor Swift ($44 million) by a massive landslide.

The gargantuan success of Beyonce's Lemonade album, as well as the success of the Formation Tour, aided her rise to the top. Also rising through the ranks is another dynamic vocalist who is, ironically, a huge fan of Bey, Adele. Adele released 25 and took off on her first world tour since 2011, increasing her earnings over the period.

Swift, however, had been relatively quiet in terms of projects being released and touring around the time the income was recorded. Nonetheless, Swift has managed to secure her seat in third place on the list. Reports from Fader state that with the release of her latest album Reputation, as well as tour dates, Swift may return to the top in 2018.
