So while we’re waiting for Warner Home Video to resolve that pesky annoying music clearance rights situation which has stalled the previously scheduled blu-ray DVD release of Spike Lee’s Malcolm X ,which we reported was supposed to come out this past January, Sony has announced today that they will be releasing John Singleton’s first feature Boyz N’ The Hood in the blu-ray format in July.

The special 20th anniversary edition Blu-ray DVD (Yikes! As I said before time sure does fly by!) of the film will, of course, include special features incluing commentarioes, deleted scenes and two new documentaries about the film The Enduring Significance of Boyz N the Hood and Friendly Fire: Making Of An Urban Legend
