Ahh yes, New York City… the place I currently call home, and will likely continue to do so for many more years to come.

Watching the below trailer for a feature documentary film titled Below New York put a smile on my face, because I know these folks; I see them everyday, standing on the subway platform, or on-board trains. They contribute to the many sounds of the city that never sleeps, and it just won’t be the same without them.

Directed by Matt Finlin, Below New York is a “stylized look” at some of New York City’s finest subway performers, musicians, artists, etc, via a series of vignettes, drawing the audience into the lives these performers lead in one of the greatest cities in the world.

The film will screen at the upcoming 9th Bronx International Film Festival that runs in 2 sections – from June 16th to the 18th, and July 8th through the 9th.

I couldn’t find any evidence that it’s screened previously, nor where it’ll be headed next. But I’ll pass on the info when I have it.
