I double dare you to say that you DON'T want to see this new comedy Highway, when it's released on DVD by Lionsgate Home Video on Nov. 13th.

I confess that I had the strange and perverse desire to really see it, after I saw this trailer, which speaks for itself. Except to say that it tries to follow in the prestigious footsteps of other drug fueled comedies, such as those old Cheech and Chong movies and Half Baked.

The film, according to the synopsis, deals with 'two marijuana-loving brothers, Earl and Ray Ray, embark on a journey in search of a mythical highway in Kentucky, which they believe will lead them to "marijuana nirvana". After encountering several obstacles they find the crop and with a strategic plan in place they attempt to trespass and steal the crop. Leaving a path of destruction behind them these two can't seem to get out of Kentucky fast enough."

The film stars Houston-based rapper Devin The Dude, and comedian Lil'Duval, along with Eddie Griffith (obviously channeling Eddie Murphy from Coming to America), Tommy "Tiny' Lister and even Keith David is in it somewhere. And you have to admire David going from Cloud Atlas to Highway in the same year. He's the definition of a working actor – as long as the check clears.

If the premise, the cast and the trailer below don't get you excited about this film, then I don't know what will.

The film was directed by Damon "Coke' Daniels who also has, to his credit, previous films, such as Busted and Who Made The Potatoe Salad, and is attached to direct Parking Lot Pimpin' next. And judging from his publicity photo, fancies himself to be the next Malcolm X. And who I am to say that he isn't?
