Daniele Watts has joined the cast of FX’s new comedy series Braddock & Jackson, as a series regular.

This is the Odd Couple-like project, announced months ago, that Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence are starring in as Chicago lawyers from different backgrounds who form a partnership after they accidentally meet in court on the worst day of their lives. Brought together by fate and greed, they develop a partnership and friendship, forcing each other to find the balance between the ethical and the unscrupulous in both their professional and personal lives.

Watts will play Lawrence’s daughter Laura.

Bob Boyett and Robert Horn are writing and executive producing.

Previous credits for Boyett and Horn include hits like Family MattersPerfect Strangers, Full HouseLiving Single and Designing Women

FX has ordered 10 episodes of the sitcom and, if the series does well over its first 10-episode run, the network will order an additional 90 episodes.

You’ll recall that Ms Watts was most recently part of the ensemble cast of Quentin Tarantino’s hotly-contested slave revenge narrative Django Unchained playing Coco, which was be her big-screen debut. She’s done mostly TV, including Showtime’s Weeds for its final season last year.

Worth noting is that Daniele co-starred in that dark, twisted melodramatic short film that sparked a sea of impassioned comments all over the web, wherever it was posted – The Strange Thing About the Johnsons.

Remember it? Sure you do! It was one of S&A’s most popular and most commented on posts in all of 2011!
