Wrote about this flick last fall… an action/thriller film called Elephant White, starring Djimon Hounsou and Kevin Bacon.

In Elephant White, Hounsou (that’s Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou to you) last seen in 2010′s The Tempest, portrays an assassin hired by a businessman to avenge the murder of his daughter by white slave traders in Thailand.

The longer synopsis: Mercenary Curtie Church (Djimon Hounsou) is hired to take out a notorious Thai sex-trafficking gang by a father whose daughter was kidnapped and murdered by the gang. With the help of a ruthless weapons dealer Jimmy The Brit (Kevin Bacon), Church finds the men he is hired to kill. But what starts as a paying job turns into an outright war between two rival gangs, and Church finds himself caught between the corrupt world that surrounds him and the truth behind the man who hired him.

The film was shot on location, in Bangkok, for Nu Image/Millennium, with Pachya Pinkaew (director of fanboy 2003 martial arts favorite Ong Bak) at the helm.

Production has long been completed on the $10 million film, according to IMDBPro, with a straight-to-home video release on DVD and Blu-ray scheduled for May 17th. You can preorder your copy HERE for DVD, or HERE for Blu-ray.
