"black-ish"A new TV season is upon us – where did the summer go? – and a returning series that I’m sure is on the must-watch lists of many of you will make its second season premiere tonight, September 23, at 9:30pm. And in that season premiere episode of "black-ish," the so-called "N" word will be tackled in a broadcast that will probably entertain, educate and maybe even inspire debate.

In the episode, titled "The Word," Jack (Miles Brown) performs the Kanye West track “Gold Digger” at a school talent show, and when he gets to the lyric that includes THE word, it leads to his possible expulsion from school. Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) work together to get him reinstated, and along the way, examine the evolution of THE word through the generations, and just who, if anyone, has the right to use it.

So tune in tonight when the season 2 premiere episode airs at 9:30pm, on ABC.

“black-ish” stars Anthony Anderson as Andre “Dre” Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson, Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson and Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson.
Guest starring are Jennifer Lewis as Ruby and Nicole Sullivan as Janine.

“THE Word” was written by Kenya Barris and directed by Matt Sohn.
