Netflix has announced the upcoming documentary. series, Amend: The Fight for America, which will be hosted by Will Smith.

The six-episode series will drop on Feb. 17, 2021. Will Smith executive produces the series with Larry Wilmore.

Here’s the official synposis: Amend: The Fight for America is a six-part docuseries that explores the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution – which, in 1868, promised liberty and equal protection for all persons – as America’s most enduring hallmark of democracy. Amend deploys a groundbreaking narrative format featuring a number of luminaries breathing life into speeches and writings by the Fourteenth Amendment’s most ardent advocates and foes with insights from an inclusive array of contemporary thought leaders and experts.

Featured talent and thought leaders include: Mahershala Ali, Samira Wiley, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Lane, Laverne Cox, Yara Shahidi, Randall Park, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sterling K Brown, Sherrilyn Ifill, Bryan Stevenson, David Blight, Brittany Packnett Cunningham, Vanita Gupta, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Dr. Khalil Muhammad, Garrett Epps and more.

The series was created Robe Imbriano and Tom Yellin It’s directed by Kenny Leon and Reinaldo Marcus Green from a teleplay by Sasha Stewart. Terence Carter, Jana Babatunde-Bey, Jamal Watson, Tom Yellin, Robe Imbriano, Jonna Mclaughlin and Angus Wall are executive producers alongside Smith and Wilmore.
