Basketball Wives fans haven’t heard much about Royce Reed since she was fired from the series after the Season 4 reunion. On the show, she battled it out with the “it crew,” Shaunie O’Neal, Jennifer Williams, and Evelyn Lozada, and had no trouble standing on her own.

Her contentious co-parenting relationship with a famous ex has been covered publicly. Now, she’s embroiled in an unfortunate legal situation with her son at the center.

What Royce Reed is being charged for

Reed was arrested for child neglect related to a situation with the 14-year-old son she shares with NBA player Dwight Howard. Per court documents, their son is currently working through issues with professionals over past incidents regarding anger and sexual inappropriateness. Reed’s son admitted to forcing the son of Reed’s boyfriend to touch his genitals.

As a result, one of the rules set by a judge is Reed’s son not being allowed to be in the presence of children two years younger than him without adult supervision. That order was reportedly violated, and now Reed is being blamed. To read more in detail, The Shade Room posted the official court documents.

Reed addresses the situation on Instagram

Reed turned herself in for the crime in question. After being released from jail, the former reality star posted a message to her Instagram addressing all of the speculations into her detainment and subsequent mugshot that was released.

“I’m ready to get back to doing comedy reels and tiktoks but until then…talk to my attorney Andrea Black,” she captioned the post in part, as reported by Black Enterprise. “1. I did not get arrested. I turned myself in because I had to. 2. Talk to my attorney. As for the picture… I was scared as s**t and was crying like a baby the whole time… I’m not ’bout that life’ but I did it and we’re gonna get through this.”
