XLrator Media and Quincy Jones III’s “Feel Rich” partnered to make “Feel Rich: Health is the New Wealth,” a documentary that tackles crucial issues of health and fitness in black communities.
Narrated by Jones III, the film features interviews with artists, producers, urban farmers and meditators who have made dramatic changes in their lives by opening themselves up to new ideas about what it means to be rich. The documentary takes viewers on a journey led by Common, The Game, Crystal Wall, Paul Wall, Fat Joe, Russell Simmons, Stic.Man, Afya Ibomu, Jermaine Dupri, Slim Thug, Styles P and the legendary Quincy Jones himself, who all help provide context to the global health crisis in urban communities. It also highlights ways in which individuals can act to improve themselves.
The film is being released on VOD and iTunes on May 23rd.
Ahead of next week’s premiere, Shadow and Act has been granted an exclusive clip from the documentary, which features First Lady Michelle Obama discussing her idea to plant a garden on the white house grounds; the clip also touches on the lack of healthy food alternatives in black communities, and champions all the good that can come from community gardens.
