If you missed last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Drake, comedian, actress, writer Sasheer Zamata, the show’s first black woman cast member since 2007 (after a much-publicized search), made her debut.

I should also note that, not only has Saturday Night Live added a black woman to its cast, producers of the variety show went even further, adding 2 black women writers (LaKendra Tookes and Leslie Jones) to its writing staff, who also made their debuts on this weekend’s show.

Sasheer wasn’t featured very much last night, but she had her moments in the spotlight. And below, I’ve embedded clips that include skits in which she was featured, so take a peek. They aren’t the only ones, but, as I said, she wasn’t featured prominently in any one skit, and none centered around her specifically. She appeared here and there throughout the episode. But it’s her “first day,” so to speak, so I’m sure there’s nothing but upside from here.
