Actor, comedian and writer Jak Knight has died at the age of 28. He was most known for his work as a co-creator and star of Peacock’s Bust Down and a writer and star for HBO’s Pause With Sam Jay.
His cause of death is unknown. He also wrote of black-ish, Big Mouth and Lucas Bros. Moving Company. He was named a 2014 Comedy Central Comic to Watch and opened for folks like Dave Chappelle, Eric Andre and Aziz Ansari.
Per THR, Peacock and Universal TV released a joint statement:
“We are devastated by the passing of Jak Knight. He was a brilliant comedian, visionary and artist and we were all lucky to experience his greatness. Our hearts are with Jak’s family, friends and community during this heartbreaking time.”
'Bust Down' premiered earlier this year
Knight co-created and starred in the buddy comedy on four friends with Sam Jay, Langston Kerman and Chris Redd.
Speaking about the show to S&A, he told us that the different perspectives each character rings is what he is excited for audiences to see.
“There’s four different points of views going on these crazy ass subjects,” he said. “They’ll be super duper tight that we get to have characters like Sam being a woman misogynist or me being covered in man juice.”
Our thoughts are with Knight’s loved ones at this time.
