Yolanda Adams and Serayah are two gospel superstars vying for supremacy in BET+‘s original series Kingdom Business. The new trailer for the series is below.
The series follows a First Lady and gospel record owner is fighting to stay at the top of the charts and keep her family secrets buried. Meanwhile, another singer is on the come up with a fresh message.
According to the description:
The music-driven series follows Denita (Adams), a gospel superstar who runs an in-house record label, Kingdom Records, in addition to acting as First Lady of First Kingdom Church, who is determined to guard her family and its many secrets at all cost. Just as Denita is enjoying the fruits of her labor, the world she’s worked so hard to put together begins to unravel when an unexpected contender in the gospel music scene threatens her status. Rbel (Serayah) is a young woman on the rise whose checkered past as an exotic dancer is no match for her destiny to turn the gospel world on its head with her new-found voice.
The series also stars Michael Jai White, Michael Beach, and Chaundre A. Hall-Broomfield.
Recurring guest stars include Kirk Franklin, La’Myia Good, Louis Gossett Jr., Larry Reid, Tamar Braxton, and gospel star Willie Moore Jr., among many others. The series is executive produced by Devon Franklin, Holly Carter and gospel superstar Kirk Franklin.
The series marks a return to musical television for Serayah, who starred in FOX’s Empire opposite Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard. She has also starred in television series and TV movies like BMF, True Story, Envy: Seven Deadly Sins, Favorite Son and Hip Hop Family Christmas.
Adams, on the other hand, is making her first dramatic television debut.
Adams has guest-starred on comedic series as herself, such as In the House, and she has guest-starred on The Parkers as a character named Karla. Adams’ biggest television role has been voicing The Sun on Blue’s Clues & You.
Kingdom Business premieres on BET+ May 19.
