This Thursday, April 28th, ActNow Foundation presents a collection of dramatic short films at Brooklyn’s South Oxford Space. The program, entitled “Life on the Edge,” is presented by ANF Short Film Collective, which screens short films quarterly by emerging black filmmakers.

Trevor wakes up with an unknown woman in unknown surroundings. As he struggles to put the pieces together, we follow him through New York as he finds the match to what ignited his night of haze.

Say Grace Before Drowning by Nikyatu Jusu
After meeting her African Refugee mother for the first time in six years, 8 year old Hawa is forced to coexist with a woman teetering on the brink of insanity.

A young couple struggles to make sense of feelings that emerge after a one-night stand.

A shy musician finds a unique way to express his feelings for a young lady in the park.

Take Too Long by Kwesi Davis
This cutting-edge animation focuses on a couple attempting to reunite with family in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. An ignorant and under staffed police department, combined with massive flooding and disorganization of the city in peril, conspire to make the reunion almost impossible.
