VMI Worldwide recently brought the horror/western movie Gallowwalkers, which stars Wesley Snipes, out from the hiding, while Wrekin Hill Entertainment picked up USA release rights to the film, with plans to release this year – although, as of our last post, there was no word on when it would be released, and what formats exactly.

Both questions have been answered this afternoon.

Lionsgate (which has a a multi-year US home entertainment distribution deal with Wrekin Hill) will release the supernatural Western on DVD (plus Digital UltraViolet), Digital Download and VOD (Video on Demand) on August 6, from Lionsgate Home Entertainment

Here’s the synop again:

A mysterious gunman, Aman (Snipes), is the son of a nun who breaks her covenant with God to ensure his survival. This act brings a curse upon Aman – all those that die by his gun will return. Soon, he is hunted by a gang of his undead former victims, led by the vicious Kansa (Howarth). Aman enlists Fabulos (Riley Smith), a new young warrior, to fight by his side.

Gallowwalkers, rated R for bloody violence, grisly images, language and nudity, will be available on DVD for a suggested retail price of $26.98, with special features including a featurette titled The Making of Gallowwalkers.

A brand-new release trailer has been released and it’s embedded below:
