Emmy-nominated actress and Emmy winning producer, Laverne Cox, is known for her groundbreaking role as the first trans woman of color on the Netflix original series "Orange is the New Black," and her advocacy in the LGBT community.

Ms. Cox has been honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award from GLAAD, the Courage Award from the Anti-Violence Project, The Community Leader Award from the LGBT Center of New York City, the Reader’s Choice Award from “Out Magazine”, was named one of the Grio’s 100 Most Influential African Americans and one of the Top 50 Trans Icons by the Huffington Post, among others. “I am so deeply honored to have been asked to be part of the Madame Tussauds legacy,” says Ms. Cox. “When I think about being who I am, a black trans woman from a working class background raised in Mobile, Alabama, this honor feels even more improbable and extraordinary. Ms. Cox’s figure will be released during Pride Weekend at the SF Pride press conference on June 26, 2015.
