In an obviously desperate and hopeless move to prove itself still relevant, The National Association for the Advancement of Ass Backward Kneegrows…OOPS I mean the NAACP has accused CNN of a lack of diversity in their newly announced prime time lineup calling it’s lack of people of color in its new schedule a “glaring omission.”

According to Ben Jealous the President and CEO of the NACCP (what the difference in the titles unless he just wants to show off that he thinks he’s a big deal?): “We have come to expect this from the likes of Fox News, but not other networks. While we understand that news is now a 24-hour cycle, most Americans get their news from the morning and evening prime time broadcasts.”

In other words: “We’re scared shitless of Fox and don’t want to get on their bad side. Besides Bill O’Reilly once give me an extra big tip for shining his shoes”

Funny though. No mention at all about MSNBC, or Headline News or Current TV or even Comedy Central or all the other news channels who also have a lack of diversity in their programming. Why doesn’t Jealous and the organization go after them as well? Me thinks what’s going on here is that Jealous is taking a old trick from Jesse (Rev Baby Daddy) Jackson and trying to intimidate the CNN into having him on as a regular pundit on “all things black”.

By the way, It was also reported that the NAACP’s Hollywood Bureau also announced plans to meet with cable news presidents to address the issue. Yeah right. That’s going to do A LOT of good. Like when has it ever?
