Continuing our highlights from New Voices in Black Cinema Festival, which kicks of this week at Brooklyn's BAMcinematek, here's a look at the short films screening this Sunday, Feb. 19 in a program called "A Matter of Time."

Spanning various genres, the films are anchored by Jerry LaMothe's The Tombs a dramatic short examining the inner workings of New York's prison system and the sometimes-innocent people who fall through its cracks. Also featured is Black Folk Don't: Go to Therapy, an episode of the web series by Angela Tucker (Asexual), whom we've discussed previously on this site.

Descriptions and trailers for all the films are below. The screening happens this Sunday, Feb. 19 at 4:30pm at BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn, and will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, moderated by filmmaker Keith Davis (Men in Love, the forthcoming The American People). Find details and tickets at BAM.org.
