Continuing our highlights from New Voices in Black Cinema Festival, which kicks of this week at Brooklyn's BAMcinematek, here's a look at the short films screening this Sunday, Feb. 19 in a program called "A Matter of Time."

Spanning various genres, the films are anchored by Jerry LaMothe's The Tombs – a dramatic short examining the inner workings of New York's prison system and the sometimes-innocent people who fall through its cracks. Also featured is Black Folk Don't: Go to Therapy, an episode of the web series by Angela Tucker (Asexual), whom we've discussed previously on this site.

The screening happens this Sunday, Feb. 19 at 4:30pm at BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn, and will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, moderated by filmmaker Keith Davis (Men in Love, the forthcoming The American People).
