Check out the trailer for an indie feature titled Oakville, which, according to the press kit, portrays a dramatic cross section of hopes and dreams buoyed by the potentials of a new Administration. As the lives of two couples intersect on election night, 2008, a struggle with conventional perceptions and morals ensues, threatening not only a vision of their new world but ultimately of themselves.

The Oakland, CA-shot film was directed, co-written, and edited by Nigerian filmmaker Lisbon O. OkaforCheryl LaTouche was the other writer, and producer.

The ensemble cast stars Kay Ewing DonatoJeff HandyBenedict IvesShannon Shepherd, Zainab Johnson, and others.

No ETA on when it a commercial release can be expected, although I received an email alerting me to a scheduled preview screening of the film taking place in Oakland on November 1, so it's on the horizon.

Watch the trailer in the meantime.
