The wait for the highly anticipated Bridgeton spinoff series is almost over.

Netflix and Shondaland just released the official trailer and premiere date for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which will follow a young Charlotte as she embarks on an intense love story.

Creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes revealed that the spinoff series will premiere on May 4 during a panel discussion with the cast that took place on Tuesday. New footage of the highly anticipated six-episode limited series has also been released.

Here's the official logline:

Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

The series' cast includes:

Golda Rosheuval who will be reprising her role as the original Queen Charlotte, starring alongside India Amarteifi who will portray the younger version of the royal.

The limited series will also star Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton), Arsema Thomas (Young Agatha Danbury), Katie Brayben (Vivian Ledger), Keir Charles (Lord Ledger), Sam Clemmett (elder Brimsley), Hugh Sachs (younger Brimsley), Richard Cunningham (Lord Bute), Michelle Fairley (Princess Augusta), Corey Mylchreest (King George), and Cyril Nri (Lord Danbury).

The limited series is from showrunner/executive producer and writer Rhimes. Tom Verica directs and executive produces and Betsy Beers also EPs.
