According to author ReShonda Tate Billingsby, winner of the Gold Pen Award for Best New Author for My Brother's Keeper, her 2005 novel Let The Church Say Amen will be adapted as a BET Original film, which is set to be directed by actress Regina King and produced by Queen Latifah's Flava Unit Company.

I am thrilled to finally be able to say we are moving forward with Let the Church Say Amen…the movie!!! 

Some of you know this has been a long journey filled with delays and frustrations. But patience pays off! Let the Church Say Amen is going into production in August. Talented actress Regina King is still on board to make her directorial debut, and I'm ecstatic to share the news that Queen Latifah's Flava Unit Company will produce what will be among the first in original movies for BET!  

BET is revamping their original programming and I am so honored to be in their family! On the next update, I hope to be able to give you casting, and specific details, but for now, join me in celebrating seeing a huge dream come true!!! 

No other information regarding the production has been released, but I'm sure we'll hear something sooner than later.

Let The Church Say Amen centers around a Reverend of a renowned small church in Houston; while the reverend seems to be doing a fine job mentoring his church, his family is under chaos.
