Kerry Washington and Sean Patrick Thomas are work together once again! The Save the Last Dance costars reunited on the set of the upcoming Hulu/Onyx Collective series Reasonable Doubt, which Washington is producing and Thomas is starring in.

The duo starred as a brother-and-sister pair 2001 dance film which saw Thomas as Derek and Washington as Chenille. They’ve remained friendly over the years. Reasonable Doubt marks their first time working together again. 

This time around, Washington is both on and off camera. Thomas will star in a recurring role.

What is 'Reasonable Doubt' about?

The series comes writer/executive producer Raamla Mohamed and Washington and will include an all-black writing staff headed by Mohamed. The series will be produced by ABC Signature and will be streamed on Hulu.

Middle of Nowhere‘s Emayatzy Corinealdi headlines the series and Washington will exec produces through her company Simpson Street. She also directed the pilot.

“In Reasonable Doubt, you’ll judge Jax Stewart for her questionable ethics and wild interpretations of the law… until you’re the one in trouble,” said Hulu’s Onyx Collective in a prior official description. “Then you’ll see her for what she is: the most brilliant and fearless defense attorney in Los Angeles who bucks the justice system at every chance she gets.”

Thomas stars  Brayden Mitchell, “a sleek and sexy man whose bark is worse than his bite.”

Washington shared her excitement on Instagram, captioning a photo of the two on Instagram, “#SaveTheLastDance meets #ReasonableDoubt Back on set with my *Chenille voice* brother Derek. @missjuliastiles where you at?!?”

Thomas also celebrated the reunion with Washington on Instagram, captioning a photo: “2021 is ending on a high note! Yes indeed,” he wrote. “Loving this role & excited to be working again with exec. producer & director @kerrywashington! When we team up good things happen.”
