Spike Lee was honored last night at the 70th Annual Peabody Awards at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

The recognition was for his work on his follow-up Hurricane Katriana-centered documentary, If God Is Willing And Da Creek Don’t Rise, which revisits the “scene of the crime” 5 years after the catastrophe occurred, taking into account the city’s successes and failures in his filmed collage.
