Stephen RiderActor Stephen Rider has been cast to play New York City District Attorney Blake Tower in the second season of Marvel’s Netflix Daredevil series, according to Deadline

According to the Marvel wiki, Blake Tower ran against the incumbent Foggy Nelson for the District Attorney’s office in New York City. Blake has also been an ally to Matt Murdock (Daredevil) at times, sharing information with him to help capture many of the city’s notorious criminals including the Jester, Mind-Wave and the Purple Man.

This could be Stephen Rider’s highest profile role to date; his past credits include parts in "Shameless," "Lee Daniels’ The Butler," and "Safe House."

"Daredevi"l is currently filming its second season, and is expected to air sometime in 2016.

Reprising their roles from season 1 will be Charlie Cox (as Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (as Karen Page), Elden Henson (as Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (as Claire Temple), and Rob Morgan (as Turk Barrett).

"Marvel’s Daredevil" follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

By the way, in the comics, Blake Tower is actually white, so this is a bit of colorblind casting on Marvel’s part.
