Brandon T. Jackson is perhaps most known for his portrayal of Trent Pierce, the stepson of Malcolm Turner in the 2011 film Big Momma’s House: Like Father, Like Son. For his role in the 2011 comedy, Jackson dressed as a woman alongside Martin Lawrence’s character, an FBI agent. However, despite starring alongside Lawrence, Jackson is saying that the film may have ruined his career.

In an interview with Comedy Hype, Jackson revealed that his career has gone downhill since the film’s release. “I believe it was cursed because nothing went right since then,” Jackson reflected on his career. “Everything went wrong when I put on that dress.”

He continued, “I think the dress, personally, is a thing that is not in our culture do. I think that everybody would want to put their culture on us…If your God say [sic] you can put on a dress and in your culture that’s normal, you have the right as a human to choose that. But me, for my God and my culture, my ancient culture, we didn’t do stuff like that. So, I was cursed by that. I believe there was a curse with that.”

Jackson also talked to TMZ about the film and his “curse.” He told the site, “I was on thin ice then with the father. But, he had his mercy and his grace was there. When you break a law you get punished…If you don’t follow all the commandments that the Torah says to do, you’ll be cursed.”
