While Black Panther II won’t be the same without T’Challa, Lupita Nyong’o is promising fans something special to look forward to.

While promoting the audiobook release of Sulwe Wednesday, Nyong’o revealed to Good Morning America that while the film will not have the presence of Boseman, who died in 2020 from colon cancer, the film will keep his legacy alive.

“You know, in true Marvel form, I have nothing to tell you. It’s gonna be a hard one. It’s gonna be different, of course, without our king, to go back into that world,” she said, as reported by The Direct. “But I know that all of us are dedicated to reimagining or carrying on his legacy in this new Black Panther, and Ryan Coogler has some really, really exciting ideas that I look forward to bringing to life with the rest of the family.”

People from all walks of life have been honoring Boseman’s legacy since his death, with the latest honor coming from the Golden Globes. Boseman won the award for best actor in a motion picture for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
