Idris Elba has many reasons to celebrate. Following the news of being crowned People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, the Luther actor will see his daughter receive a very particular honor.

Isan Elba, the 16-year-old daughter of Idris Elba and his ex-wife, Kim Noorgard, will be the Golden Globes Ambassador at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.

Elba will follow Simone Garcia Johnson, the daughter of actor Dwayne “The Rock ” Johnson and Dany Garcia. For those unfamiliar, Golden Globe Ambassadors are traditionally the children of well known Hollywood actors and actresses who are issued with escorting presenters on and off stage and handing out awards. The role was previously known as Miss Golden Globe but was renamed.

Elba will also use her platform as Golden Globe Ambassador to raise awareness for mental health. “I feel honored to hold this title and use this role to not only further educate people on the work of the HFPA, but also shine a light on issues that I care about,” Elba said. “Mental health, specifically among African Americans and my peers in particular, is something I really want to be more vocal about. There’s this perceived stigma and I’ve seen friends struggle. We need to empower young people to not be afraid to ask for help.”

The Golden Globes are set to take place on Jan. 6, 2019.
