FX announced that it has pushed back the release date for the second season of Pose, the acclaimed period drama from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals. Originally set to premiere on June 9 9 p.m., the new premiere date is Tuesday, June 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.

The announcement was made today by Chuck Saftler, the President of Program Strategy and COO of FX Networks. Pose explores the juxtaposition of several segments of life: the underground ball culture, the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe and the downtown social and literary scene that came to define New York City in the 1980s.

Pose made history as the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles and the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ actors ever for a scripted series. While the critically-acclaimed first season took place in the late 1980s, the second season of Pose jumps a few years up and will be set in the early 1990s. The House of Evangelista reevaluates its goals in the wake of the ballroom community entering the pop culture zeitgeist. Pose stars Billy Porter, MJ Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Charlayne Woodard, Dyllón Burnside, and Angel Bismark Curiel. Transgender activist Janet Mock serves as a co-executive producer on the show.

Last week, it was announced Pose won a Peabody Award. The Peabody Awards, which will take place on May 18 in New York, called the show “an honest telling of trans and gay people of color at a critical time in history.”
