Two legendary comedians’ families are joining together thanks to young love.

As Today reports, Jasmin Lawrence, the daughter of Martin Lawrence and Eric Murphy, Eddie Murphy’s son, are now dating. The two have made their relationship Instagram official by posting messages to each other on the social media platform.

Jasmin sent Eric a birthday message Sunday, writing in part, “I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side. Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!!”

In a June Instagram post, Eric also wrote about his feelings toward Jasmin, writing, “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU[.]” He also included the hashtags #myotherhalf and #equallyyoked.

With hashtags like these, it sounds like there could be wedding bells in the future. But regardless of the status of Jasmin and Eric’s relationship, their fathers are friends in the industry, having worked on films like Boomerang and Life together. Life, in particular, is considered one of their most popular, quotable films. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Makeup. It also earned a nomination from the NAACP Images Awards for Outstanding Motion Picture.

The two comedians have also experienced a resurgence in their careers in recent years. Lawrence rejoined Will Smith in another installment of the Bad Boys franchise, Bad Boys for Life, in 2020, becoming a box office success at number one. In 2019, Murphy starred in Dolemite is my Name. It became an award-winning film, with Ruth E. Carter winning the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Costume Design and with the cast winning Best Comedy. The film also won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Independent Motion Picture. In 2020, he reprised his role as Prince Akeem in Coming 2 America.

Murphy has also openly talked about becoming more comfortable with himself as he’s aged. In an episode of The Oprah Conversation, Murphy told Oprah Winfrey that he feels “great and optimistic and totally comfortable in Eddie…I was always comfortable in my skin, but not like now.”
