AMC is developing a series on Wesley Lowery’s best-selling Black Lives Matter book, They Can’t Kill Us All: Ferguson, Baltimore, and a New Era in America’s Racial Justice.

The series is coming from Brad Weston’s Makeready and Into the Badlands writer LaToya Morgan. Morgan has an overall deal with AMC. She will write the script and produce with Weston.

Lowery is a reporter at The Washington Post, and worked a project at the paper which tracked police shootings. The project won a Pulitzer.

His book, published in 2016, “examines how decades of racially biased policing in segregated neighborhoods with failing schools, crumbling infrastructure and too few jobs has led to the high-profile cases of police brutality in Ferguson, Cleveland, Baltimore and elsewhere and the birth of Black Lives Matter movement seeking justice for the deaths of Michael Brown, Tamir Rice and Freddie Gray.”

According to Deadline, the series will also “reflect current events and race relations through the stories and voices of fictional characters.”
