Telma Hopkins has joined the cast of FX’s new comedy series Braddock & Jackson as a series regular.

This is the Odd Couple-like project, announced months ago, that Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence are starring in as Chicago lawyers from different backgrounds who form a partnership after they accidentally meet in court on the worst day of their lives. Brought together by fate and greed, they develop a partnership and friendship, forcing each other to find the balance between the ethical and the unscrupulous in both their professional and personal lives.

Hopkins joins Daniele Watts, who was cast last week, to play Lawrence’s daughter. Hopkins will play Martin Lawrence’s tough-as-nails, no-shit-taking mother who lives with him.

Bob Boyett and Robert Horn are writing and executive producing.

Previous credits for Boyett and Horn include hits like Family Matters (which Telma Hopkins co-starred in), Perfect Strangers, Full HouseLiving Single and Designing Women

FX has ordered 10 episodes of the sitcom and, if the series does well over its first 10-episode run, the network will order an additional 90 episodes.
