Quinton Aaron rose to prominence for his portrayal of football player Michael Oher in the 2009 biographical sports drama, The Blind Side.  Very recently, the actor opened up about his physical transformation.

In an interview with TMZ, Oher revealed how he lost 100 pounds. The actor, who has also appeared in films such as Be Kind Rewind and 1982, revealed that he cut candy bars and bread from his diet, which has now consisted of Keto and fasting. Aaron’s new regimen resulted in going from 559 pounds to 462 pounds.

"I used the new year as a way to get a new me," he said.

He said that he’s eating “Cobb salads for lunch and sticking to a keto diet … along with fasting. He’s also been walking and doing stretching exercises.”

Aaron wants to lose another 64 pounds by May 10 to honor his late mom on her birthday, as he weighed that amount during the filming of The Blind Side. Overall, he wants to reach between 300-325 pounds.

For those unfamiliar, The Blind Side was a commercial success, grossing over $309 million at the international box office and earning Sandra Bullock the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy. However, despite its success, The Blind Side has often come under criticism for its “white savior” narrative.

In an ESPN interview several years ago, football player Michael Oher revealed that the film harmed his career in the major league sport.

“I’m not trying to prove anything,” he said. “People look at me, and they take things away from me because of a movie. They don’t really see the skills and the kind of player I am. That’s why I get downgraded so much, because of something off the field,” Oher said. “This stuff, calling me a bust, people saying if I can play or not … that has nothing to do with football. It’s something else off the field. That’s why I don’t like that movie. [It’s] taken away from my football… That’s why people criticize me. That’s why people look at me every single play. I’m tired of the movie. I’m here to play football.”
