The debut of the latest revival series for The Game is getting closer, so Paramount+ has unloaded the series’ first full trailer.
It’ll have a two-part premiere episode on Thursday, Nov. 11. The other episodes of the 10-episode first season will drop weekly on Thursdays.
The series features original series stars Wendy Raquel Robinson as sports agent Tasha Mack and Hosea Chanchez as footballer Malik Wright, as well as newcomers Adriyan Rae as Brittany Pitts, the daughter of Jason and Kelly Pitts, Vaughn Hebron as Jamison Fields, an undrafted free agent, Analisa Velez as Raquel Navarro, Brittany’s best friend and Toby Sandeman as Garret Evans, the top football player in the league.
Original series stars Brittany Daniel, Pooch Hall and Coby Bell are slated to make special appearances.
Mara Brock Akil and Sailm Akil, who were behind the original series, will executive produce. Devon Greggory is the showrunner.
The official description is as follows: “The new series will relocate from San Diego to Las Vegas and will see new players offer a modern-day examination of Black culture through the prism of pro football. The team will tackle racism, sexism, classism and more as they fight for fame, fortune, respect and love—all while trying to maintain their souls as they each play The Game.”
The original series, a spinoff of Girlfriends, ran from 2006-2009 on The CW.
The first revival ran from 2011-2015 on BET. The original series was a multi-cam sitcom and the first revival was a single-camera, half-hour dramedy. Tia Mowry, Pooch Hall, Hosea Chanchez, Coby Bell, Brittany Daniel and Wendy Raquel Robinson starred in the original series. Brandy, Lauren London and Jay Ellis joined the cast during the first revival. Mowry and Hall only remained for the first two seasons of the first revival.
