The Game star Brittany Daniel will not return to The Game revival at Paramount+.

According to TVLine, Daniel, who played Kelly Pitts in the original series, was set to reprise her role as a guest appearance. But she actually won’t come back after becoming a new mother in October.

Daniel and The Game showrunner Devon Greggory both gave statements to TVLine. regarding the birth of her child.

“As th wise saying goes, ‘When we make plans, God laughs,'” she said. “Our sweet baby came early so Kelly Pitts had to sit this season out. I hope everyone enjoys seeings my dear friends back on the field.”

“Although we will miss Brittany and her portrayal of fan favorite Kelly Pitts,” said Greggory. “[W]e wish her, Adam and baby Hope Rose, all the best.”

Fans will still be able to get a glimpse at Kelly Pitts' life through her daughter Brittany, played by Adriyan Rae.

Original star Coby Bell, who plays Kelly’s husband, former football player Jason Pitts, is still slated to make his guest appearance. Pooch Hall is as well. Of course, Hosea Chanchez and Wendy Raquel Robinson are back as leads.

The new revival of The Game is not the first. The series originally aired on the CW before getting revived on BET. This third iteration of the series will once again keep fans up to date on the characters, who are married into the sports world. The series’ original cast includes Daniel, Bell, Pooch Hall, Tia Mowry, Pooch Hall, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Hosea Chanchez. Lauren London, Brandy and Jay Ellis joined during the BET revival.

The hope was that Mowry would come back to the show to reprise her role on the series, but as of now, she has decided not to opt in

She talked more about her decision with Entertainment Tonight in October, saying, “I know it seems kind of weird, because I’m like, the only one [not returning], but you know…I love playing that character [Melanie], and if everything works out, and if everything works out the way that it should, then how knows, I might be on the show. And I will say this, if you guys want me on the show, continue to press, press, press the network and we’ll see.”
