No need to rehash by what I mean by a “Castor Oil” movie. You can read what I wrote (and so brilliantly if I do say so) about that right HERE; but the definitive example of that term will finally make its UK premiere, though not in theaters.

Denzel Washington’s The Great Debaters will make its UK premiere next week on DVD, on the High Flyers DVD label.

The release will unfortunately be plain, with just the film and no extras, or commentary.

The films was originally set for a January 2008 UK theatrical release, but plans were shelved after its disappointing US box office, and no Oscar Awards buzz.

As someone was quoted in regards to the aborted plans for a UK theatrical release: “There was no market for the film in the UK.”
