The show doesn’t open until October 13, and the lead actress hasn’t even been cast yet, but tickets for the Broadway premiere of Katori Hall’s 2010 Olivier Award-winning Best Play, The Mountaintop, are now officially on sale.

Ranging from $75 to $125, you can pick up yours by visiting Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200.

If you prefer to purchase at the theater box office (the Jacobs Theatre on 242 West 45th Street), you will be able to do so starting on August 11.

As we’ve already noted, Samuel L. Jackson will make his Broadway debut in the play, playing the late Martin Luther King Jr; Halle Berry was originally reported to be attached to star opposite Samuel, but she backed out earlier this year. So, the job is still open, and I’m sure the producers are actively searching for an actress to assume the role in a play which will be directed by Tony Award nominee Kenny Leon (Fences).

I say just cast Anika Noni Rose, or Nicole Beharie and be done with it 🙂

I suspect both Samuel, and whomever is cast as the “mysterious maid” will be up for Tony Awards next year.
