Appropriately titled, The Wonder Year, the film’s synopsis reads: “A year in the life of CEO, NAACP ambassador, Duke University professor, husband, father, son and Grammy Award winning producer 9th Wonder. The film follows one of soul music’s most dynamic figures from his childhood home to late nights in the studio and everywhere in between.

Featuring: DJ Premier, DJ Green Lantern, J. Cole, Murs, Phonte, Sha Money XL, Young Guru, The Alchemist, Drake & more.

Color me curious… this looks well put together, and, while I won’t necessarily call myself a pure hip-hop head, I did wear out my Little Brother The Minstrel Show CD back in 2005/2006. Since then 9th Wonder (aka Patrick Douthit) has worked with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Jean Grae, Wale, Jay-Z, Erykah Badu, Ludacris, and others.

Directed by Kenneth Price, the 78-minute feature documentary is currently in distribution mode, as the production team works to drum up interest in its release via its website, with a form fans are asked to fill out and submit if they want the film to screen in their city. You can access that form HERE.
