Fans of the British sci-fi series Doctor Who and its spinoff Torchwood are facing the news of the pending American “remake” of the latter with mixed feelings (I know I am). I watched the teaser for the series this morning, and I must say it doesn’t look bad. I’m intrigued enough to actually watch it.

John Barrowman will be reprising his role as the flirtatious and hard-to-kill Jack Harkness, along with Torchwood alum Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper. New to the line up is Bill Pullman as Oswald Danes, Mekhi Phifer as Rex Matheson (yes, a black man named Rex). Watch the teaser trailer below.
