It was released in the UK June, earlier this year, although it has yet to travel. If any of our UK readers saw it, please share your thoughts.

Otherwise, you should know that, while the rest of the world waits for Victim, it's out on DVD and Blu-ray (but only in the UK) today, October 1.

First written about on S&A back in September 2011, the film's synopsis reads:

When "country-girl" Tia comes to stay with her cousin in the city, little does she realizes that her naivety will disturb the delicate balance of cousin Davina and her group of friends. Living the good life on a career of crime, Davina's friend Tyson struggles to be a parent to his teenage sister Nyla. Getting to know Tia allows Tyson to see a way out of his violent life. But Tia's blossoming romance is a consequence that Davina had not envisaged, and Davina begins to plot a terrible revenge.

Alex Pillai is the director (his feature film debut), from a script co-writing by one of the film's stars, Ashley Chin.

Pure Film Productions is the company behind it.

No word on whether the film will travel at this point however.

I think we can safely put this one into the same group as the other so-called *urban* crime/dramas produced in the UK that we've written about on S&A lately, like SKET, Top Boy, and almost every other title that starred another black Brit named Ashley… Ashley Walters.

And they're all on our watchlist for 2012 and on.
