Well actually
that should be, “watch Samuel L. Jackson playing a Russell Simmons-type
character in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming comedy action thriller Kingman: The Secret Service.” You know, a
middle aged hip-hop mogul who still dresses like a 14 year old and who ought to
know better.
Here’s your first
look at the trailer for the film directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, X Men: First Class), which is based on the comic book about “a
super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street
kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global
threat emerges from a twisted tech genius,” which I suspect might be the role that
Jackson is playing, but don’t quote me on that.
Aside from Jackson, the film also stars, Colin Firth, Mark
Strong, Jack Davenport, Michael Caine,
and Sofia Boutella and it opens on October 24th.
