Actor, comedian, producer, author and TV personality, Whoopi Goldberg has a monumental resume and a handful of accolades to her name– and she also has a beautiful family. She’s an EGOT winner—making her the first Black woman to have been awarded all four of the major American entertainment awards. She’s also a 2001 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor recipient and has an illustrious Hollywood career spanning over 30 years.
On top of all her entertainment success, the award-winning star is also a proud mother, loving grandmother, and doting great-grandmother. In a 2011 interview with Piers Morgan, Goldberg admitted to never really being in love with any of her husbands. In response to a question about relationships and her three marriages, Goldberg responded: “I suppose that you know, you have to actually be in love with the person that you marry. You have to really be committed to them. And I’m just—I don’t have that commitment. I’m committed to my family, you know, and so, hence, for that relationship has lasted, you know, the longest.”

Whoopi Goldberg’s first grandchild, Amarah, was born in 1989. Goldberg’s daughter, Alex Martin, had Amarah at the young age of 16. There’s little known about Amarah’s biological father, but some reports say he was Alex’s high school fling.
Amarah tends to live her life outside the public eye, but it is known that she’s a wife and mother to a little girl named Charli Rose. Charli made Goldberg a great-grandmother at the age of 58. Whoopi introduced the newest addition to the family in a 2014 Instagram video after she was born.
“Everyone meet the new addition to my family Charli Rose and yea I’m a tad awkward it took me a minute been a LONG time! #thankGod4newlife!” Goldberg gushed in her post.

She’s the owner of Jerzey Kennedy Designs, a fashion brand based in Los Angeles and New York City. Her budding fashion label seems to specialize in loungewear primarily.
Goldberg’s only grandson is Mason Dean. Mason was born in 1998. Although he comes from a family of actors, Mason appears to be more interested in the musical world. By the looks of his Instagram, Mason is a budding rapper and musician. He released a single called “Focus” in 2020, and he also has tunes available for streaming on Spotify and other platforms.
