As Obama begins to approach his final months as President of the United States, he has begun to openly reflect about the best of times and the worst of times. On Sunday, during an interview with FOX News, President Obama told Chris Wallace that he regrets the aftermath of what took place in Libya in 2011.

For those who are not privy to what went down, let this video catch you up to speed:

Although Obama says he still supports the U.S. decision to stick to the NATO pact and intervene, he admits that he wishes he would have spent a little more time focusing on the after effects that toppling dictator Moammar Gadhafi would have on the Libyan people and the North African country. Obama views Libya as a “mess” at this point and seemed to put partial blame on some of the U.S. European counterparts.

The Atlantic recently published a profile piece on Obama in which he speaks a lot about what happened in Libya before and after the intervention, as well as some other difficult decisions he had to make in terms of America’s role during times of world crises.

People do not always like to dwell on the past and would they could have done but in this case, we are just glad that Obama owned up to not being as prepared as he could of been with the Libyan Civil War crisis in 2011.
