A West Virginia nonprofit director has been "removed" from her position after she posted a racially charged message about First Lady Michelle Obama. Employees for the Clay County Development Corporation told WSAZ that Pamela Ramsey Taylor is no longer the director. The workers did not specify to the NBC affiliate whether Taylor had been fired or demoted.

After news of Donald Trump winning the election hit social media, Taylor wrote, “It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels."

The post has been deleted.

Don't you hate when you get screenshotted?

Beverly Whaling, the mayor of Clay, gave her two cents in the comments section writing, "Just made my day Pam."

A petition calling for the firing of both Taylor and Whaling has collected nearly 115,000 signatures

Taylor, who has since apologized, told WSAZ that the aftermath "has been a hate crime against me” and led to death threats.

The mayor also apologized and told The Washington Post in a statement

My comment was not intended to be racist at all. I was referring to my day being made for change in the White House! I am truly sorry for any hard feeling this may have caused! Those who know me know that I’m not of any way racist!"

“Again, I would like to apologize for this getting out of hand!”

Both women appear to have deleted their Facebook accounts. The nonprofit is state and federally funded. Officials are set to discuss the Facebook fallout Tuesday night in a previously scheduled meeting.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Obama is reportedly still flourishing.
