Think back to a time when things were a lot simpler. Remember when having great friends made your dreams more vivid, crushes were innocent and never got serious enough to break your heart, and to travel the world all you had to do was turn on Spice World and sing along? All the recent talk about a feud between Mel B and Victoria Beckham had me wishing there was some way we could find our way back.

There was something magical about the ‘9os. The music felt good. There was so much emotion. Then, it was easy to find a song that described exactly how you felt. It could be the plethora of girl groups that stormed the scene or the bond between friends growing up that made you believe you needed at least one (or four) homegirl(s) to hold you down. It’s refreshing to see the #GirlPower of bands resurface with groups such as Fifth Harmony and Chasing Destiny.

Reliving these awesome girl power-centric throwback jams will hopefully inspire you to call up your crew and plan a girls’ night out.
