August Alsina has left social media surprised after possibly “coming out” as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

During the season finale of VH1’s The Surreal Life, he didn’t blatantly say he was gay but confessed his truth and detailed the state of his relationship with his said counterpart.

Alsina opened up about his journey with love and meeting Zu, explaining that love fell into his lap at the right time.

“Love showed up, but in a new way,” he said in a confessional. “I want to share that and really honor the person that I love and loves me back and is teaching me so much about love and healing. I want to do that in front of the world because it defies all of the constructs one would say love is supposed to be or love should look like.”

Twitter users did their thing and discovered who Alsina‘s mystery bae was finding his social media pages and identity.

According to online investigators, Zu is Alsina’s “little brother,” and it gets more confusing because it is unclear if the two are biological siblings.

The two also have a working bond, and they have a song called “2 AM” and perform in D.C. together. They both also wished Alsina’s mother, Sheila Blair, a happy birthday, making viewers think they share the same mother.

Since the airing of the clip, the internet went into a frenzy, referring to the announcement as a stunt for ratings.

Alsina said he was shedding his old skin in order to begin again at the end of the video.
